For God so loved the world,
that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God.
And
the Word became flesh,
and dwelt among us,
and we saw His glory,
glory as of the only begotten from the Father,
full of grace and truth.

For a child will be born to us,
a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders; And
His name will be called
Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Eternal Father,
Prince of Peace.

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold,
a virgin will be with child
and bear a son, and she will
call His name Immanuel.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows:
when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph,
before they came together
she was found to be with
child by the Holy Spirit.
And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man
and not wanting to disgrace her,
planned to send her away secretly. But when he had considered this,
behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream,
saying, “Joseph, son of David,
do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for
the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
She will bear a Son; and
you shall call His name Jesus,
for He will save His people from their sins.
” Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet:
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and
they shall call His name Immanuel,”
which translated means, “God with us.”

And some men were carrying on a bed a man who was paralyzed;
and they were trying to bring him in and to set him down in front of Him.
But not finding any way to bring him in because of the crowd,
they went up on the roof and let him down through the tiles with his stretcher,
into the middle of the crowd, in front of Jesus. Seeing their faith,
He said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven you.”
The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying,
“Who is this man who speaks blasphemies?
Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
” But Jesus, aware of their reasonings, answered and said to them,
“Why are you reasoning in your hearts?
Which is easier, to say,
‘Your sins have been forgiven you,’
or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?
But, so that you may know that
the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins
,”—He said to the paralytic—“I say to you, get up,
and pick up your stretcher and go home.”
Immediately he got up before them,
and picked up what he had been lying on,
and went home glorifying God.

for
all have sinned
and fall short of the glory of God,

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world,
and death through sin, and so
death spread to all men, because all sinned

as it is written, “
There is none righteous, not even one

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that
while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.

who gave Himself for our sins
so that He might rescue us from this present evil age,
according to the will of our God and Father,

He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross,
so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness;
for by His wounds you were healed.

I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.”

I am the door;
if anyone enters through Me,
he will be saved,
and will go in and out and find pasture.

‘And it shall be that
everyone who calls on the
name of the Lord will be saved.

The Lord is not slow about His promise,
as some count slowness, but is patient toward you,
not wishing for any to perish
but for all to come to repentance.

He who has believed and
has been baptized
shall be saved;
but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.
